Piedmont is an affluent, very small (1.7 Square Miles) charter city of approximately 11,500 people nestled high in the Oakland hills. It is, for the most part, a bedroom community with mostly older homes built primarily in the 1920s to the 1950s.
It features 5 very nice city parks, beautifully wooded walk paths, and good recreational facilities, including tennis courts, children’s playgrounds, and picnic facilities. Piedmont is centrally located adjacent to Oakland which is just a few minutes away. It’s just across the Bay from San Francisco and just over the hill from Walnut Creek.
