It’s just across the Bay from San Francisco and next to the City of Oakland, and only 10 miles from Walnut Creek. Berkeley is a quaint, sophisticated older, mixed community with university life, residential housing, commercial and some light industrial areas. It boasts a very vibrant community spirit just outside the university up and down Telegraph Avenue with a myriad of worldly restaurants and food and drink services. Berkeley covers some 17.6 square miles of gentle hillside terrain, and more than 124,000 people live there.
